Anduril Industries & SRO Advisors: Building into the Future

Anduril is Building for the Future

Rapid growth often means everything is new: new facility, new leadership team, new mission, new skills, etc. This kind of exponential growth brings a number of people and organizational challenges - especially those related to integrating new talent and scaling operations. As it expands its Solid Rocket Motors (SRM) capabilities, Anduril should consider how to:

  • Scale processes and management systems

  • Define a unique culture (i.e. how we do things here) and propagate it among new and existing employees

  • Organize in a way that provides the most visibility to the most important aspects

  • Bring new staff to "value add" status as quickly as possible

  • Protect it's people - both physically and psychologically - during this time of constant change

Let's Work Together!

At SRO Advisors, we are committed to you and to your success. We know that requires a relationship built over time and based on trust. We will design a partnership that is specific to your needs, preferences, priorities, and budget. Please treat this as a starting point that we can refine together over time.

"On call" advise and expertise

1. Communications & Information

How we categorize, distribute, and store information.

As Anduril's Solid Rocket Motors capabilities have grown, so has the volume of information and communications, making it difficult to know what to pay attention to and where to find vital documentation.

ANALYZE

  • Catalog what types of information are generated and their purpose

  • Identify which information is needed by whom and for what purpose

  • Create a "heat map" of information priority by organizational level

ORGANIZE

  • Define how information is consumed by type and organizational level

  • Identify which tools best support distribution and storage

  • Create lexicon and hierarchy (i.e., file structure, naming conventions, categorization requirements, etc.)

OPTIMIZE

  • Create and deploy behavioral reinforcement

  • Establish continuous improvement and maintenance protocols

  • Implement metrics and feedback loops

Did Your Know?

Almost one-fifth of frontline workers say they don’t receive relevant communications from their employer. Research also found that over one-third (34%) of workers can’t easily access workplace systems on their mobile, nearly 2 in 10 aren’t using their intranet, and of those, two-thirds don’t know how to.

RESULTS:

  • Speed and results are prioritized over cumbersome processes

  • Teams are empowered to use the tools / apps best suited for their purpose

  • Standards are implemented for reporting, output, and storage that are easy to use and easy to find

  • There is a simple way to adapt over time and change what isn't working smoothly

2. Management Systems

The processes, reports, and philosophies we use to lead, manage, and inspire.

It's important for Anduril Solid Rocket Motor's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to articulate and agree to how it will operate, as well as the expectations of the managers, supervisors, and workers it oversees.

Governance

SLT

Managers

Provide the oversight for organizations, large-scale planning, and overall direction of the business.

Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization. Take care of the regular activities that put the vision set by the SLT into operation.

Norms

  • Leadership team charter

  • Meeting agendas

  • What topics / issues require SLT attention

  • Behavioral expectations

  • Daily operations versus exception management

  • Cross-functional vs siloed problem solving

  • Who presents to SLT

4. Engagement & Empowerment

A sustainable environment that protects the physical and mental safety of our people and leaders.

Engagement is THE SINGLE BIGGEST predictor of success. Engaged workers, managers, and leaders put forth exponentially more discretionary effort, which drives innovation, continuous improvement, problem solving, and performance.
